Jaz has played a key role in Real Estate transactions for a variety of clients that include Banks, Developers, Investors, Hoteliers, Franchisees, Care Home Operators, PLCs, SMEs, Landlords, Tenants, and High Net-Worth Individuals.
Over the last decade, he has worked with a variety of asset classes ranging from offices, retail parks, development sites, mixed-use buildings, hotels, luxury homes, industrial units, car workshops, and commercial units.
He has assisted in the acquisition of development sites where contracts have been conditional upon certain planning requirements when satisfied have had GDVs in excess of £40m upwards. This coupled with experience in the processes involved in site assembly until site disposal has helped his clients streamline their own processes and acquire sites at a highly efficient rate. He assists with all aspects of development, from acquisition, development finance (where required), and building out of the development up until the sale of the ultimate units.
In the hospitality and leisure sector, he assisted several franchisees in acquiring over 50 units, some of these were by way of agreements for lease where the Landlord would build out the relevant units on retail parks, or lettings of existing units where units were acquired by new leases or assignments of existing units.
He has strong experience with overage provisions which are quite common where sites have development potential. Careful drafting and negotiation regarding overage is paramount as it can be a continuing liability for developers and successors if not dealt with appropriately.
