Bank of England raises interest rates by 0.5 percentage points
Real Estate Dispute Resolution Partner Gary Scott has been featured in several articles Landlord Knowledge and The Negotiator giving his reaction to the Bank of England’s interest base rate rising to 5% yesterday (22 June 2023) - the highest level since 2008.
Responding to the rise: “Alongside inflation and the demise of mortgage interest as a tax deductible expense makes being a landlord a burden rather than an attractive investment.”
Gary also gives his reaction on how this will affect small entrepreneurial landlords and the newly Renters Reform Bill.
