Spector Constant & Williams launches new employment team
Spector Constant & Williams has announced the launch of its new Employment Law Department with the arrival of a four-lawyer employment group led by Partner Michael Michaeloudis, who joins the firm alongside Senior Associate Tariro Carmel Nyoka and Associates Ifigenia Theodorou and Berin Karaaslan.
The new team, which joins from another leading UK law firm, will offer contentious and advisory employment support to employers, employees, senior executives and trade unions. The department will cover the full spectrum of employment law, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims, redundancy and restructuring, TUPE transfers, employment status disputes, equal pay claims, and senior executive matters such as disciplinary processes and negotiated exits.
Collectively they bring significant experience in high-profile and technically demanding litigation in the Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal and higher courts. The team is frequently instructed in sophisticated, high-value and reputationally sensitive disputes across sectors including financial services, technology, retail, manufacturing, media, transport and the public sector.
Co-founder of Spector Constant & Williams, Alun Williams said: "The arrival of Michael and his team marks an important milestone for our firm. Their depth of experience and strong reputation in employment law will enhance our ability to provide strategic advice to clients facing increasingly demanding workplace and regulatory challenges."
Michael Michaeloudis, Partner and Head of Employment, brings over 19 years’ experience advising clients on complex employment disputes and contentious matters. He has extensive experience conducting tribunal advocacy and managing multi-party litigation, TUPE disputes and protective award claims, and has appeared in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal.
Michael has acted in a number of significant reported cases, including landmark appellate decisions addressing key principles in discrimination and TUPE law. He is recognised in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, where he has been ranked as a Next Generation Partner.
Commenting on the launch, Michael Michaeloudis added: "We are delighted to be joining Spector Constant & Williams at an exciting stage in the firm’s growth. Our aim is to deliver pragmatic, strategic advice to clients navigating high-stakes workplace challenges, particularly in light of the Employment Rights Act and the significant changes it is introducing. By combining strong litigation capability with a commercially focused approach, we are well positioned to support clients across a wide range of industries."
